Effective Communication Skills

This program consists of a day and a half and is designed for those who want to improve their oral communication skills at work.  Highly interactive, the sessions are practical and help participants build skills that they can apply immediately.  There are eight hours of classroom activities (one day) and four hours of skills practice (one morning session) where you can apply what you have learned.

Key Program Features:

        Communicate effectively using “Communication Fundamentals”

        Clarify and convey the purpose of your communication

        Listen effectively and learn your own personal barriers to listening

        Select the correct timing, location and style appropriate when “speaking up”

        Assess your personal communication style

        Develop awareness of your body language as you interact with others

        Develop questioning techniques to ensure that your message is understood

        Use positive and developmental feedback effectively

        Take responsibility for your communication using I statements

The focus of the Skills Practice Session is a full morning where participants take on the roles of conversation leader, conversation participant and observer.  Participants will receive feedback from their peers and the facilitator.
